Overview

Handscripted (“we”, “us”) helps people send handwritten cards. This policy describes what we collect, why, and how it’s used. This is a starter policy — please review with your own counsel before relying on it for any regulated purpose.

Information we collect

• Account info: email, name, authentication tokens.
• People & occasions: the names, dates, and notes you save about people you want to send cards to.
• Card content: the messages you write and the cards you send.
• Phone number: only if you opt in to SMS reminders.
• Payment data: handled by our payments provider; we do not store card numbers.

SMS reminders

SMS is voluntary. Providing a phone number and opting in to SMS reminders is never required to create an account, sign in, buy credits, send cards, or use any other Handscripted feature. You can use the entire product without ever giving us a phone number.

If you opt in to SMS reminders, we store your mobile number and your consent timestamp solely to deliver the reminders you requested. We do not sell or share phone numbers with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing purposes. SMS opt-in data is not shared with any third party for any purpose. Message frequency: up to four (4) SMS reminders per saved occasion (typically 21 days, 10 days, and 2 days before, plus the day of). Overall frequency varies based on the number of occasions you save in your account.

Message and data rates may apply. Handscripted does not charge for SMS, but your mobile carrier may. Reply HELP for help or STOP to opt out at any time.

How we use information

• To operate Handscripted and send the cards you create.
• To deliver reminders by email and (if opted in) SMS at the times you configured.
• To respond to support requests.
• To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.

Sharing

We share data only with service providers that help operate the product (authentication, database hosting, email delivery, SMS delivery via Twilio, payments, print & mail fulfillment). These providers are bound by their own terms and process data on our behalf.

Your choices

• Turn off email or SMS reminders in Settings at any time.
• Reply STOP to any SMS to immediately opt out.
• Clear all your saved data, or delete your account entirely, from Settings → Danger zone.
